This round belly mug was fired in a Japanese style wood kiln called an anagama for 8 days. A team of artists stokes the kiln with wood every 15 minutes around the clock-- the massive kiln holds 900+ pots!

This mug is lined with a pretty blue-green celedon glaze. There is no glaze on the exterior of this piece, just wood ash that drifts through the kiln and lands on the surface of the pots. Once the kiln reaches around 2300°F the wood ash melts and creates a glaze-like surface and flashing. Made from a durable porcelain/stoneware mix of clays, our pottery is very durable, microwave & dishwasher safe, and will last a lifetime!

This mug will hold approximately 10 ounces of your favorite beverage.
