This vase was wheelthrown by Jody Johnstone in Swanville, Maine. Fired in her traditional Japanese-style kiln for 8 days. There is no glaze on this piece, only wood ash that drifts through the kiln during the firing and melts once the temperature reaches above 2300 degrees. This vase is a great example of directional flashing and ash melt.
A perfect vase for a bouquet of flowers, or just as an art piece for your home.
Stands approximately 11 inches tall
